What kind of maintenance do oak floors need and what finishes do they need?

Unfinished Oak flooring should be finished after installation and sanding, with a suitable finishing oil such as Osmo, Treatex or Blanchon which we can supply. The floors are thereafter very easily to maintain, simply washing with a mild cleaning solution from the appropriate cleaning range. Spot sanding, and re-oiling is also an option on small areas that have very stubborn stains or deeper scratches. Engineered oak flooring comes either with a pre-finished option or unfinished (filled and sanded), which means that it's already sanded and sealed. As soon as the floor has been laid, you can walk on it.
